Colr

The four letter word game

Gameplay Overview

How to play

This is a game that is made to expand the vocabulary of the player when it comes to naming colors. It is a short four letter game that is played by guessing the word represented by the colors. The first letter of the colors name is the letter that is designated to be in that spot.

Now, I know that not everyone knows these specific colors and thats why I created this game. I created it to expand the vocabulary of everyone so we can communicate more clearly with one another, in this case, it comes to qualitative observations.

Development Story

How it came to be

I was up one night, thinking about how most game ideas are over- looked. For example, Flappy Bird was just an endless game that scrolls forever. It is known for being one of the first things you code (as seen in hour of code) for any programmer in a language. It's idea was simple but no one actually made it until Dong Nguyen made it.

With that in mind, I thought of how its uncommon to have a rich vocabulary when it comes to colors. I started this game with only ROYGBIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). This created a set of less than 100 words. So I expanded, I discovered new colors and their interesting names.

Future of Colr

How it will change

I know that some of these colors are not well known, and some are contraversial in the way that the colors are not that different from one another. I do intend on adding recomendations of colors from the players of this game, if they include the name, the hexcode, and the source which verifys the color's name/existance.

Some other things I intend on adding:
